eLan on Track at the Gold Cup
The eLan Gold Cup was back for the fifth time this past weekend. In what is always an enjoyable race day, the teams at eLan Property Group and Prosports International went the extra 3200 yards and beyond this year. There was so much on offer that dazzled the senses and ignited the imagination. It was an especially exciting day for some…
A warm congratulation goes to the winner of the R1 million plot of land, Ayanda Mchunu. He was ecstatic as It’s My Turn thundered over the line for the win in Race 7. The 16 finalists drew numbers and Ayanda was fortunate enough to draw horse number two. The 16 finalists were drawn from entries of 16 unique channels, and Ayanda’s path to the final event came through Gagasi FM. Every year of the eLan Gold Cup has seen some form of this competition, but rarely have we seen a reaction quite like Ayanda’s.
There were a dozen races on the day and the chef schools on show boasted almost as many prawn dishes. Bubba Gump would have been proud. CTIA, HTG, IHS and Capsicum left all the guests satisfied with their skill and variety. Another big hit in the VIP Champions Room was Cornubia Mall’s Plan B dessertery, who added a bit of sugar to proceedings. The open bar went down well, and ensured nobody’s race ended early. It also ensured some lively shots, courtesy of the Selfie Mirror (https://bit.ly/2K74ShG).
The next eLan Gold Cup is being held on the 27th of July 2019. This one promises to be even bigger and better. So be sure to save the date, and keep an eye out for next year’s competition. A day out such as this is not one to be missed.
