KZN Trail Running series

The Spur Trail Series®, which has proved to be wildly popular among trail runners in the Western Cape, Gauteng and Eastern Cape, attracting thousands of trail novices and experienced race snakes, and race organisers expect the event to grow in leaps and bounds in Kwazulu-Natal 2016.
It’s the fourth running of this series in KZN, but it’s the first time Wildrunner (Of Cape Town) and KZN Trail Running have teamed up to present the Spur KZN Trail Series®!
The KZN Trail Series® consists of four long (Championship) and four short courses (Challenge) and runners only receive a medal if they complete the entire Series. To complete the Series, runners have to run at least three long courses or three short courses.
The result is a South Coast race at Rocky Bay as the series opener, one night race at Kenneth Steinbank (Race 2) and two brand new venues that have never been used for trail running before (Race 3 at Blythedale Coatsal Resort and Race 4 at Aloe Wildlife Estate, Camperdown).
With stunning venues, great sponsorship and people with a passion for trail and great events, the formula should prove to be a winner.
The series opens on Sunday, 02 October at Rocky Bay, Scottburgh. Just 45min form Durban, the sea views and indigenous forest single track will take your breath away!

Distances:
Each event offers a shorter 5km – 6km route, which is perfect for new trail runners and walkers, as well as those who prefer the shorter distances. The championship course at each event is 10km – 12km and is more challenging.
Race and Series Prizes:
The first three men and women across the line at each event will receive prizes, as will a number of junior categories in the short course. At the final event, those who have done at least 3 of the 4 races will given a series placing for which there are prizes across all age categories.
Lucky Draw Prizes:
Two pairs of La Sportiva Trail Shoes, Trail Series Buff’s and Spur Vouchers will be up for grabs for those at the prize giving.
