Blythedale Development Update

 In General

This feature is designed to give interested parties a clearer idea of development occurring at Blythedale Coastal Estate and events taking place at the Blythedale Event Bowl.

The Blythedale Coastal Adventure Market is proving a popular attraction, and continues to take place on the first Sunday of every month. This is the most exciting market currently taking place on the North Coast of KZN. As the focal point for any and all events taking place at Blythedale, the Event Bowl is set to host more events over the course of 2019.

Almost 25 km of new mountain biking and running trails are being added by Holla Trails, to supplement the extensive network of existing trails at the Estate. KZN Trail Running are hosting two races at Blythedale this year, with the first taking place on the 10th of March. On the 20th and 21st of July, the Blythedale Event Bowl will be hosting the KZN leg of the Warrior Race for the third year running (and swimming, and climbing).

General construction in the North Coast region is on the up – iLembe is in the process of building a water reservoir on an Alray site for water reticulation. In terms of the Estate itself, there has been a strong interest shown in individual development sites. These range from 15 to 410 opportunities per development site. As well as developers displaying a keen awareness of these larger sites, individual freehold sites have attracted high sales interest from potential investors and homeowners.

Pricing remains competitive in this Estate; one of the most sought after on the North Coast. Many savvy investors are acting early, to ensure they guarantee themselves properties in Phases 1 & 2. Early adopters are often the segment to see the best returns, and leaving it too late may price some people out of investing. eLan’s team of dedicated sales agents are active on site, daily, and are also available by appointment at the Simbithi Sales Office (eLan Real Estate; 032 946 3244).

Close to 10 km of access roads have been created to take clients to the sales office and the monthly market, and for construction, vehicles to access building on Loerie Lane. Located on this road, the first home at Blythedale Coastal Estate is currently under construction. It was recently cleared by the Design Review Committee (DRC) and has received local authority approval. Two more homes have been presented to the DRC for review. Construction of Phase One infrastructure is set to begin soon, after which the rest of the Estate will not be far behind.
