Fall in Love with Blythedale on Valentines Day at the inaugural Blythedale Coastal Resort MTB
Challenge. Situated just north of Ballito on the KZN's North Coast, this new event on the calendar will
offer riders and their families a chance to enjoy Blythedale's unique features. The resort is a beautiful
tract of land with five purchasing options encompassing all South Africa's lifestyle elements. The
resort will offer an array of facilities; a boutique and resort hotel, spa and wellness centre and 18-hole
championship golf course among others. The area is environmentally unique with 320ha of indigenous
forest and 3km of unspoilt beach. It makes for a perfect venue for a new mountain biking destination.
Event organisers Max Cluer Sports Marketing will make use of their extensive course building
experience to create three refreshing routes for the 40km MTB Classic, 19km Family Ride and the 6km
Kids MTB race which doubles as a walk or trail run. The routes will encompass sections of the Cane &
Spoke MTB Trail Centre along with a large portion of the Blythedale Coastal Resort.
Mark Taylor, CEO of the eLan Property Group said, "Blythedale Coastal Resort offers a tranquil coastal
lifestyle where residents can truly get to grips with their natural surroundings. We are thrilled to be
able to offer mountain biking as part of its experience and look forward to hosting a race of this calibre
at the Resort".
