What is the structure of the Home Owners Association?

Every Estate will have its own HOA, each of which will report to the central Blythedale HOA.

Will my domestic worker be able to reside on the Estate?

Yes, domestic workers are welcome to reside in Blythedale.

What security measures will be implemented on the Estate?

The resort will be manned by 24 hours security personnel and CCTV; monitoring the entrance and exit of all residents and guests.

How can I become a member of Blythedale Golf Country Club?

Membership of the Golf Country Club is compulsory when purchasing at Blythedale

As a purchaser, will I have access to all facilities within the Estate?

Regardless of the placement of your purchase, you will have full access to the Resorts facilities on all phases of the development (Golf, Ocean, Forest and Equestrian)

Are pets allowed?

Yes, a maximum of 2 dogs (less than 20kg when fully grown) are allowed in the free standing units or homes. Unfortunately no cats are allowed, as we are conscious of protecting the bird-life in the area.

Are there specific landscaping guidelines?

Due to the eco-friendly nature of the development, landscaping guidelines will be implemented, in keeping with the aesthetics of the Resort.

Which builders can be used?

The Resort will have a list of accredited building contractors. If you wish to use the services of a different building contractor, an approval process will be implemented in order to ensure that the builder complies with environmental, architectural and other controls.

Who would approve my building plans?

Our Design Review Committee will approve your building plans after considering the Resort’s architectural theme. This Committee consists of 2 or 3 appointed architects, a geo-tech consultant, storm-water consultant and landscaping consultant.

What is the time period in which one needs to complete building of their property?

5 years and an additional 15 months to complete

Who is responsible for electricity, water and rate payments?

Individual property owners will be responsible for the payment of their private rates, water & electricity costs. Common property water & electricity will be included in the monthly levy.

Where is the nearest hospital, veterinary practice, shopping centre and business node in the area?

The development plan includes the construction of a commercial and retail complex and there are currently facilities available in nearby Ballito or Stanger.

Are there shark nets at the beach?

Yes, shark nets are present along the main Blythedale beach and a further application is taking place for nets to be based off the resort’s coastline

Are residents able to fish in the dams & sea?

Yes, fishing is one of the many lifestyle benefits of Blythedale

What local attractions are in the region?

Hluhluwe & Umfolozi Game Park are home to the ‘Big 5’ and the St Lucia Wetlands Park, Kosi Bay & Cape Vidal are all within 60 minutes of the Resort.

How far is Blythedale from King Shaka International Airport?

It is a drive of approximately 20 minutes

Can I live here permanently or is it a holiday destination?

The choice is yours! The Resort is designed as a residential development, but may be used as a holiday home.
